Zhao Huang-Job Market Research

"Good morning, I'm Zhao Huang. I'm a junior majoring Financial Counseling and Planning but ready to change my major to Management, Accounting and minor in Finance. I had Intern experience in Banking and Marketing areas. I’m looking for an internship for this summer. I’m interested in your company because this is something I study for and would love to work for." This is the way I would introduce myself to the recruiters. Basically, my ideal job is Financial Counselor or Financial Analyst; other than that, I’m also interested in Accounting. Therefore, the two companies I selected in USA is my passion. Because I am from China, I would like work in my country. However, Chinese Financial Counselors are doing the same things as the American does. In China, the Financial Counselor is more likely doing Sales, they rarely create or develop their own Counseling products; they just try to sell the similar products to the customer. Most Financial Counselors work in China's Banks because there are few big companies doing the Financial Counseling for customers. Therefore, I would choose a bank and a business financial investment company called Ruimain in Beijing, China.

1. Among the jobs I selected, the standard minimum requirements should be no requirement. From Blue’s website, they did not clarify what kind of standards the students must achieve. Between the companies in USA and China, the main differences should be the way they list the requirements. China’s companies list all skills like Math, SAS, Excel, etc. Also, they required the interns to be kind-hearted, passionate and avoid to ask days off. However, the American’s companies require success in both academic and extracurricular activities in their high school and college experiences. They’re looking for someone with a resume that reflects involvement in a variety of activities like sports, speech team, student government, community service projects, clubs and leaderships.
2. The American’s companies I researched did not post their compensation that much. They mentioned the intern is paid but not specific numbers. Both of the countries would not give extra holidays besides weekends during the internship. One thing to mention is that there is mostly no compensation in Bank of China; RuiMan would pay 2000RMB per month that about 300 dollars but no other compensation.
3.
They are all different from each other. Bank of China has upheld spirit of “pursuing excellence”, Ruiman believes in “Honesty, Fair公正, Efficiency效率,Win-win . “Guidance, opportunity, flexibility and support” ,That's life at Blue & Co., LLC.

4. The job markets are really different because the economics systems in two countries are different. In China, the huge population makes the job market even much more tough than America. China’s unemployment rate might be double or even triple of America’s, therefore; the companies’ would only choose the most competitive candidates. Most of post grad cannot find a job because they do not have any work experiences; some of them have to be housekeepers with BS’s degree. So most students would first finish the Master School and then try to look for a job and the lowest salary for them is 120 dollars per month of the full time job and there is no compensation. Also, the companies would not list their requirements for the candidates, as they only want the best ones, that’s why there’s requirement like “kind-hearted”. In America, most companies would offer the job opportunities to above average candidates as long as the economy become better. And most of them will cover health insurance, they may double the salary during weekends and easier to get more holidays.
