Job Ad Analysis

Begin this assignment by locating a single job you would like to focus on. This can be one of the 4 jobs ads you already selected, or a new one. Try to pick a job you might actually want someday.

In a new blog post, answer the following questions about the job you have selected. Title this post "[your name] - Job Ad Analysis"

A primary objective of this assignment is to tailor your employment package to the specific needs of the employer. If your advertisement does not give you sufficient information about your potential employer’s needs, try to pick an ad that gives you more detail. If you are uncertain whether or not your job ad is appropriate, do not hesitate to ask me.

  1. Did you know anything about the company before you saw the job advertisement? If so, what?
  2. Does the company have a website? What is the url? What does the website suggest about the company’s personality or philosophy?
  3. What keywords are on the website/job advertisement that you can use in your resume and cover letter?
  4. What skills is your prospective employer seeking? Which skills are the most important, in your opinion?
You answers are due Monday the 31st at midnight. Altogether, this analysis should run between 250-500 words.
