1. What seem to be the standard minimum requirements between the jobs you have selected? Are basic requirements (education, experience, etc.) similar for jobs in the U.S. and outside? What differences do you notice?

I have chosen two countries to research for job opportunities which are the United States and Jordan. The basic requirements i noticed from all jobs is good communication skills, computer skills and fluency in the english language. More specifically they ask for applicants with a B.A. in management related fields and some experience, which i have from previous work experiences. Some of the responsibilities that the jobs share are producing financial statements, accounting books, bank reconciliations and clients' accounts among others. From looking at both countries the differences in the jobs are minimal with the most glaring difference being the details in job descriptions. The US jobs contained more detailed information on what they ask for from their applicants in relation to jobs in Jordan. Another difference i noticed is the difficulty in finding jobs in Jordan online as it is less technologically developed than the US.

2. What do you know about the compensation packages for the jobs you have selected. Don't just talk about salary (although that is important), also look at health insurance, vacation time, opportunities for advancement, anything that might attract you to a particular job. How does compensation compare between the two countries' job markets?

Finding salary information was another thing rarely found on the internet. In Jordan's case companies do not disclose salary information to avoid competition with other companies. Salaries also range in accordance with performance according to the information the companies presented to me in emails. From what i noticed however that compensation in the United States is higher than that of Jordan due to their demand for more skilled labor.

3. Do some initial research into the companies you are considering. If their websites include a corporate philosophy or mission statement, take a moment to read through these. Are there differences between the way the four companies see themselves, and the way they approach their industries?

After looking at the company websites, i noticed a trend company calling themselves the leader in their industry. This tactic allows the consumer to feel confident upon working with each company. They also talk about the strengths of their company and the goods/services they offer. Another thing they talk about is the quality customer service they offer which is valuable to the reader. Overall there are little differences and all companies attempt to glorify themselves to attract customers.

4. In your opinion, are there any other major difference between the job markets in two countries you are considering? It is alright if you don't have a response to this question.

I believe the reason that job descriptions are more detailed and compensation is higher in the US due to its demand for more educated and skilled labor. I believe a major difference is the transparency of information that US companies offer in comparison to Jordan. This allows for easier job searching, increased production and less corruption.
