Kwanbin Lim - job market research

1. I have always been curious about investment and stock markets, so I wanted to learn more about financial sector. After graduating, I wanted to work in the field of finance. I researched jobs in United States and Korea. The basic requirements of these jobs were high communication skills including writing and presentation skills. They also required previous job experiences or internship.
The differences between two countries were that Korea’s companies required second language skills, and to have served in the military before they apply for the jobs. In Korea, it is mandatory for man to serve in the military for 2 years.

2. Finding salary information was hard to find on the internet. Accurate information were disclosed on the internet or other sources. All of the companies that I researched posted other compensation packages. All four of the jobs that I researched provided wide range of health care, paid vacations, incentives, and retirement plans.

3. After researching their companies’ websites, I noticed all of the companies calling themselves the best in their fields, and that they wanted to expand their business internationally and how they provide high quality of services to customers. Between four companies’ philosophy and mission statements, there were only little difference. The difference was how they phrase their philosophy and mission statements.
